The Future of Southern Ag rests in your hands. While the current generation works to integrate new technology to sustain and improve upon existing agricultural practices, it will be up to you to continue implementing new strategies to ensure the sustainability of Southern agriculture.
To that end, Syngenta Crop Protection and Farm Press are pleased to once again sponsor the Future of Southern Ag Student Essay Contest. The contest is open to all students currently enrolled at a university with an accredited agriculture program in the following regions:
Region I
- Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia (South of I-64)
Region II
- Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri (South of I-70), New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas
Four total prizes will be awarded!
Two $6,000 winners
Two $4,000 winners
One undergraduate essay and one graduate essay from each region will advance to the final judging round. Of the four finalists, the undergraduate essay and the graduate essay writers with the highest cumulative score will be awarded $6,000 – and the runners up will each receive $4,000.
