Basil downy mildew was confirmed on June 28 in Morris County. This is almost a month sooner than last year. Control of basil downy mildew begins with regular scouting, recognizing symptoms and weekly protectant fungicide applications. Page 5 of the Plant & Pest Advisory has more on fungicide applications.
